BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) resmi akan menyambangi perangkat Android dan Apple iOS mulai besok. Untuk Android, aplikasi ini mulai bisa diunduh pukul 6 sore atau 18:00 WIB di Play Store. Sementara untuk perangkat iOS, aplikasi yang sama bisa ditemukan di Apple App Store enam jam setelahnya, yakni dini hari pukul 00:01 WIB, tanggal 22 September.
Apakah tampilannya sama persis dengan BBM yang ada di BlackBerry? Kurang lebih, ya. Namun, bagi pengguna yang belum pernah menggunakan BBM sebelumnya, tentu perlu "berkenalan" lebih dulu. Untuk itu, BlackBerry menyediakan BBM.com
"Ini super Web, bukan website biasa. Pengguna bisa mengaksesnya langsung dari perangkat mereka. Cukup memilih installer di Play Store atau App Store. Lalu, unduh," terang Krishnadeep Baruah, Senior Director Marketing APAC for BlackBerry Messenger, di Jakarta, 19 September 2013.

Setelah diunduh, pengguna akan diminta untuk registrasi BlackBery ID. Pendaftaran ini hanya dilakukan sekali untuk mendapatkan nomor pin, seperti yang ada di perangkat BlackBerry. Nomor ini yang nantinya jadi ID BBM Anda.
Dari situ, Anda akan ditawarkan untuk mengundang teman, kerabat, kolega, hingga saudara dari berbagai akun media sosial yang Anda punya. Misalnya, mengundang teman-teman di Facebook agar memakai BBM lintas platform juga. Ada pula pilihan Twitter, LinkedIn, Foursquare, dan sebagainya.
Pengguna juga bisa menghubungkan BBM ke beberapa akun media sosial jika mau. Dengan begitu, update apa yang terjadi pada BBM juga akan terjadi di Facebook, Twitter, dan seterusnya.
Setelah itu, Anda akan masuk ke tampilan muka BlackBerry Messenger. Proses instalasi selesai. Anda bisa menambah teman dari Options (logo BB). Bagi yang sebelumnya pernah menggunakan BlackBerry, tentu ini bukan hal yang sulit.

Akhit-akhir ini sedang marak di pemberitaan tentang muncul nya virus Facebook. Virus ini memanfaatkan popularitas Facebook untuk menyerang target korbannya. Sebenar nya bila di Facebook anda tidak sembarang mengklik file, video atau link mencurigakan, maka kemungkinan terkena virus ini pun semakin kecil. Gambar diatas adalah tautan dinding video bervirus yang disebarkan,yang sekilas terlihat seperti file video. Saran bila anda melihat gambar film atau video apapun yang tidak jelas asal usul nya seperti gambar diatas, maka jangan di klik. Berikut langkahnya: 1. Login pada akun Facebook. 2. Pada bagian kanan atas layar klik [Account] lalu pilih [Application Settings]. Anda akan mendapatkan layar “Application Settings – Recently Used”. 3. Arahkan mouse anda pada tanda silang [X] di aplikasi yang bernama “Winamp”. 4. Klik tombol "Remove" pada jendela konfirmasi yang muncul. 5. Refresh browser, dan pastikan aplikasi "Winamp" sudah lenyap. Selain Virus diatas juga terdapat virus Koobface. Koobface adalah sejenis trojan yang disebarkan untuk menyerang pengguna Facebook dan juga beberapa jejaring social networking lainnya seperti Friendster, My Yearbook dan Bebo. Agar anda tidak terkena virus ini, berikut langkah antisipasi yang harus anda lakukan untuk menghindari virus ini: 1. Jangan mengklik Link dan file yang mencurigakan, jangan download plugin atau sofware dan menginstalnya, bila itu bukan resmi dari Facebook. Bila anda tidak tahu itu apa, maka jangan di klik dan biarkan saja, itu jauh lebih baik ketimbang anda mengambil resiko. 2. Jangan sembarangan mengklik email dari Facebook. Karena semua email notifikasi dari Facebook yang dikirimkan ke email anda belum tentu semua murni dari Facebook, karena bisa juga terdapat email palsu. Virus Koobface ini system kerja nya dengan memanfaatkan email notifikasi yang mirip dengan email notifikasi dari facebook. Contoh salah satu email nya adalah seperti email permintaan pertemanan yang meminta anda untuk mengklik nya. Sehingga apabila anda membuka email tersebut dan mengklik link dalam email tersebut, maka komputer anda sedang dalam tahap terinfeksi worm ini. Ini dikarenakan link tadi mengarahkan anda ke worm yang menyarankan Anda untuk mengupdate Flash, yang sebenar nya itu adalah virus dan bila bila anda instal, maka sudah dipastikan komputer anda terinfeksi virus. 3. Bila anda mengklik suatu link, dan link tersebut mengarahkan anda kepada suatu situs yang berisi spam seperti avert_blog_koobface atau apapun itu jenis nya dan mencurigakan, maka jangan anda lanjutkan untuk mengeklik nya dan langsung close saja situs tersebut. Akan tetapi bila saat anda close situs tersebut, tetapi selalu muncul spam (pesan sampah) sehingga anda tidak bisa keluar dari situs tersebut, maka anda tinggal klik CTRL + ALT + DELETE secara bersamaan dari keyboard anda, pada pesan yang muncul lalu klik browser yang anda gunakan (Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Opera, Safari, dll) dan klik End Task, bila ada permintaan untuk simpan sebelum keluar pilih saja keluar dan jangan simpan. maka browser anda akan tertutup. Sistem keamanan di ponsel Android lagi-lagi menjadi sebuah kecemasan para peneliti sistem keamanan. Terbaru, para peneliti dari Trend Micro menemukan adanya virus trojan di Android yang mampu menyamarkan dirinya sehingga dikenali sebagai salah satu aplikasi Google+.

Virus ini merupakan varian dari virus trojan yang bernama ANDRIDOS_NIKISPY yang mampu merekam panggilan telepon. Varian terbaru ini memiliki kemampuan yang lebih hebat daripada pendahulunya. Virus ini mampu menjawab panggilan masuk jika layar dalam keadaan mati.

Para peneliti dari Trend Micro mengatakan fungsi auto answer pada virus ini berfungsi pada Android 2.2 dan di versi di bawahnya. Sedangkan untuk Android 2.3, virus ini tak bekerja karena fungsi MODIFY_PHONE_STATE didisable.

Untuk menyamarkan dirinya, virus ini akan terinstal dengan logo Google+. Selain itu, untuk lebih membingungkan pemilik ponsel, virus ini juga akan menginstal aplikasi bernama Google++. Jadi untuk anda para pengguna ponsel Android tampaknya harus lebih ekstra hati-hati.

Risiko itu diantaranya tidak akan mendapatkan garansi keamanan karena ada beberapa komputer pembajak software yang sudah tertanam virus dan virus tersebut ikut masuk ke software bajakan.

“Hampir sebagian besar software bajakan menjadi sarang virus,” kata Yodanto ketika menghadiri jumpa pers BSA di Jakarta .

Anehnya, kata dia, virus-virus itu tergolong baru yang tidak dapat terdeteksi anti-virus sekarang sehingga para pengguna baru sadar enam bulan kemudian dengan komputer yang sudah dipenuhi virus.

Bagi para pengguna yang mengunduh software bajakan melalui internet juga harus waspada karena Virus rentan menyerang crack-crack serial number software yang ada di Internet.

“Banyak keluhan dari para pelanggan, banyak komputer mereka terserang virus setelah terinstal crack serial number software bajakan,” katanya.

Memang, harga software bajakan jauh lebih murah tapi belum tentu software itu terjamin keamanannya. Hal itu berbeda jika pengguna menggunakan software asli, meskipun mahal, para pengguna tidak perlu khawatir dengan kualitasnya.

“Harga software bajakan memang murah, tapi jika komputer kita terserang virus dan rusak. Banyak juga biaya yang akan dikeluarkan,” katanya.

Kemudian, bagaimana cara membedakan antara software asli dan palsu. Mudah saja, kata Yodanto, “lihatlah kemasannya!”

Jelas, kemasan software asli lebih bagus daripada software bajakan dan para pengguna bisa membeli langsung software asli di toko-toko ritel instansi tersebut.

Menurut International Data Corporation (IDC), sebuah firma riset terkemuka di dunia, tingkat pembajakan software komputer di Indonesia naik satu poin pada 2010 menjadi 87%. Hal itu menempatkan Indonesia di posisi ke-11 sebagai negara dengan tingkat pembajakan software komputer tertinggi di Indonesia.
