According to rumors circulating, the OS is focused on the energy-efficient air-chip ARM design. Microsoft chose the ARM because ARM homemade chips are widely used in products such as iPad and Apple's iPhone.
Now Windows will offer Windows and Windows 7 Phone that uses the ARM chip. This standard uses a system designed in the x-86 chip architecture of Intel and AMD.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer hopes to present the new OS in January at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Later, the new OS supports Intel and AMD chips.
Microsoft is a competitor of Apple in which Apple currently dominates the market with sales of 7.5 million tablets iPad since the first sales in April and late September. Market researcher Strategy Analytics estimates that Apple holds 95% of the tablet market.
However, the tablets were the Google Android OS is expected to become major competitors in the near future. Microsoft Alliance and ARM will help the software giant to catch up on the mobile device market.
